In 2017, a rectangular structure was identified in the surroundings of A Robaleira. It consisted of a horizontal base made from granite slabs measuring 450 x 370 cm and marked off by low stone walls. This structure is similar to those found in Porto Mougás (today buried) and those of As Lagoas de Viladesuso. They are probably part of the facilities of sea water evaporation salt mines from Roman times. A few metres away to the west we find salt ponds; irregular shaped basins that are also the result caused by salt mining, but from and earlier era. And even farther west, on the rocks (preferably at low tide) we can see the remains of two spectacular shellfish farms which were still in use during the middle of the 20th century.
