Bouldering is a style of rock climbing that consists of climbing blocks of rocks or small rock walls without the use of conventional climbing gear (rope, harness, fastenings, etc.).
The coast of Oia offers a spot with excellent conditions for fans of this sport. It is located below the "O Muiño” camping site. Its seaside location guarantees blocks with different levels of difficulty.
In uptown Oia there is a rock climbing school with almost 120 routes including overhangs and vertical granite slabs as high as 20 metres, although the average height is usually between 8 and 10 metres. Most of the routes are easy, with grades ranging between IV and 6c.
The area of Portocelo is located in the town with the same name. The reference to reach this area is the large dirt car park area that can be seen from the road. The walls are below. From the town of Oia one must head towards Burgueira and take the right hand exit towards Mabia. A few metres away to the right we find a track that leads to the repeater. The most easily discernible parking area is next to the fountain.
